screen-shot-2016-12-05-at-8-43-06-pmI used a Disney reference for the title of this post, but in all honesty, I have never actually liked the cold. That is…until I got to experience the magic of snow!!! [Truly life changing experience when it comes to my adoration of winter.]

Coming from Florida, I never truly experienced winter in all its majesty, not to mention how fun snow is!!! My first experience with snow was last weekend when I went hiking with one of my sorority sisters [my big, who is also one of my best friends!] We were driving up the winding mountain road, when all of the sudden we came across a patch of snow. As we kept driving up the mountain, there was more snow all over, and I could not contain myself. I made [and threw] my first snowball, and we went on our way hiking the snowy trail.

This weekend we got about 3 inches of snow here in Clemson and I was so excited I can’t even explain it. My friends all indulged in my child-like excitement of being in the snow for the first time ever, thank goodness.

I was able to make a snow angel, catch snowflakes on my tongue, made a snowball, a snowman [named Harold], slipped and fell on an ice patch [ouch], and more! The only thing I think I missed out on was sledding, which I’ll just have to make up another time.

Needless to say, I have found out that I really like winter if I can play in the snow. I wasn’t entirely thrilled about my fingers and toes being cold and numb, but I didn’t really notice until I stopped playing in the snow and started to head back inside. I had never imagined how soft snow is, I don’t know why, but I always assumed it would be much more icy. I love the way it crunches when you walk in it, and how pretty it makes everything look. I recently bought a heated blanket which is perfect to turn on and snuggle under after coming in from playing in the cold snow.

I’m so glad my friends were willing to be out in the snow with me for far longer than probably necessary, but I couldn’t have asked for a better first snow day! I have included some pictures down below of my experience in the snow, I can only hope it will snow one more time this winter, but I also can’t wait until it’s warm enough to go to the pool and lakes!

Stay Warm!
