Epcot: where you can travel the “world” in 8 hours. Most people that visit Disney don’t expect much more than Mickey and Princesses, but Epcot is the park that is an adult’s playground! With lots of food and cocktail options, and insights into different cultures, it is a park you don’t want to miss! It’s often overlooked, but has some fun rides and is a great way to learn more about the world, technology, and sustainability! Don’t worry, you can still wear your Mickey ears! A big part of travel is being flexible and adaptable. Be prepared for all scenarios is important not only for safety, for experiencing all there is to offer, but also for changing weather!

Guys: Florida weather is something else! I guess that comes with the sub-tropical climates but if you’re planning a trip to Florida, you’ll want this information!

If you’ve never visited Florida, you may expect beautiful sunny days and tropical sunshine all the time. While we do experience an average of 205 sunny days per year, that statistic doesn’t prepare you for afternoon storms or a crazy changing weather day!

When packing for a trip to Florida, bring lightweight clothes that are easily layer-able, especially during this time of year! A tank top and a pair of light cotton shorts might be great during the day, but you may need a long sleeve shirt in the evening! Always be ready for short spurts of rain, but don’t be discouraged, it can pour down rain for 10 min and look like it never rained after!

Hi there! Don’t mind me and my horrible tan lines (yes, my legs are much darker than the rest of me, I blame work 😂). A couple weeks ago my best friend and I went to Epcot for the Food and Wine Festival, and we were loving all the little spots to take pics! -Mourne Rouge Beach: best fish tacos, a little more secluded, still easily accessible!
-Sauters Beach: north side of the island, tire swing, road trip spot
-Magazine Beach: close to the airport, less crowded than Grand Anse, boulders
-Groom’s Beach: Private, great for events, calm waters
-Lance Aux Epines Beach: residential area, shady spots, view of boats in the harbor
-Bathway Beach: permanent umbrellas, black sand appearance (sometimes), local spot
-La Sagesse: quiet, coconut palms, super calm
-Hog Island: Sunday BBQ, grills and picnic tables, rum bar
-Levera Beach: Private, gorgeous view, adventurous beach!

Summer is coming to an end in most places, but Florida is still nice and hot! With heat indexes over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, finding a way to stay cool is a must! If you haven’t been, the natural cold springs are a local favorite! Three Sisters Spring off of Crystal River is usually filled with manatees, although we were there in the off season. During the colder months, manatees stay in the springs since they stay a nice 72 degrees! Sometimes the “peak season” isn’t always the best time to see a location! #teansea

Sometimes a change of scenery is all you really need to change your mentality! Sometimes I feel super bogged down by trying to be productive. It happened to me in college, and it happens to me now when I try to work on my blog. It’s intimidating trying to constantly keep up with yourself, and others in any kind of competitive industry. Sometimes it’s hard to feel motivated after a long day of work, even though you know you should work on your passions. For me, going to a new place can help spark that productivity. I used to study really well at various coffee shops, hotel lobbies, different library spots, outdoor spots, even marinas! That change in atmosphere still helps me to this day, and can help break up your routine to feel more interesting. My little hometown of St. Augustine is just a couple days away from experiencing our first hurricane of the season - Dorian. It’s kind of crazy just feeling like sitting ducks waiting for something to happen. The predictions look like a ball of spaghetti noodles with the storm’s path changing direction, speed, category, etc. This morning it was bumped to a Cat. 5, which is a majorly destructive storm. Prayers for all those affected and experiencing such a massive storm.

How the heck do you beat the heat when it’s 100% humidity and temps are in the upper 90s? Here in Florida, we head to the beach or the springs! The springs are the best way to stay cool, with temps around 72 degrees year round and crystal clear water, they are the perfect place to float, swim, kayak, snorkel, and stay cool!

Three Sisters Spring, off of Crystal River is just a short drive from St. Augustine, even shorter from Tampa! It’s a great place to see manatees, although this trip we somehow missed them! (A friend of mine went the following week and saw tons!) It is only accessible by boat in order to swim, so we rented kayaks and made our way to the spring head paddling down Crystal River and into the spring! It was definitely a great girls trip to kick off the summer! 💦 #teansea

Sometimes you’ve gotta slow down, and just stop to smell the roses...or whatever these little yellow flowers are!

If you were to guess where this picture was taken, where would you think? A little town in Europe? Maybe a little Island somewhere? It’s crazy how different a place can be from the surrounding areas, if only you take a minute to look!

Would you believe me if I told you this was in my little hometown of St. Augustine? Most historic cities in the USA have a very “American” look, but St. Augustine seems to have an interesting blend of that look, as well as European influence! That is because St. Augustine was originally colonized by the Spanish, not the English, and to this day Spain still has a piece of property in little old St.A dedicated to one of their queens! Pretty neat little fun fact that most people visiting the Oldest City don’t know about! 🌼 #teansea

That’s how I’m feeling at the moment. So happy. I finally got the chance to take a little trip away from St. Augustine to fill my travel bug a bit until I can make it on a new adventure.
