The Best Beaches in Antigua

Antigua, humbly known as the “Land of Sea and Sun” is also known for having 365 beaches around its coastline. With one for every day of the year, how do you pick the best one to visit in just a short vacation? While I can’t say I’ve visited all of them, I have visited a few, and can make some recommendations. Here are 6 of the best beaches in Antigua!

Antigua's Best Beaches

Pigeon Point Beach

Pigeon Point Beach is a small beach just off of Falmouth Harbor. A popular spot for Yachties and cruisers alike, this small stretch of beach is a great spot to watch the sunset with the boats bobbing in the foreground. A short walk from the marina is possible, but most people access this beach by dinghy.

There are perfect little trees to hang a hammock, or just lie under for a sundowner. This little stretch of beach is also popular for snorkeling, so bring your dive flag and hop in!

Galleon Beach

Located just inside the entrance to Freeman’s Bay, Galleon Beach is a calm, beautiful beach to visit within the Nelson’s Dockyard National Park. A great spot for snorkeling, this is a spot that is much calmer and more easily accessed than the Pillars of Hercules. Watch the anchored boats in the harbor, or catch a glimpse of the beautiful sea life below. Keep your eyes out for sea turtles, as they are known to frequent the area! Pack a picnic, or book a room at the resort that lines the inland side of the beach.

Jolly Beach

Jolly Beach is nestled next to Jolly Harbor on the West side of Antigua and is a mile long stretch of white sandy beach. Jolly Beach is a great option if you want to be close to the shopping and restaurants in the area. A stunning little beach, offering views of the harbor, soft white sand, and is a pretty great sunset spot as well! If you’re looking for the picturesque palm-lined beach and a nice place to relax, then Jolly Beach is a great choice!

Jabberwock Beach

Prior to Antigua, I had never really seen anyone kiteboarding. If you were like me and hadn’t experienced it, this beach is an awesome spot to hangout on, but this beach is definitely one of the beaches you don’t want to miss on Antigua. Jabberwock Beach is filled with kites of all colors, and it makes for an incredible skyline. I don’t know a whole lot about kiteboarding personally, but I got to see everything from setting the kites up, all sorts of tricks, to breaking it all down and walking away from the beach leaving only footprints. I did not try it, but I enjoyed the day on the beach watching the kiters [is that the right terminology??] and soaking up the sun!

Don’t forget your camera if you’re heading to Jabberwock, you can get some really unique photos of the surfers while you’re relaxing from the shoreline!

Morris Bay Beach

Once you get your pineapple from Cades Bay Agricultural Station, bring your newfound fruit to Morris Bay to enjoy the sweet snack on the beach. This beach is on the south side of the island, just a few minutes from the Agricultural station. A coconut palm lined path takes you towards the beach, which was pretty quiet when I visited. There is a resort at one end of the beach, but even so, I didn’t feel like the beach was crowded at all.

And if you missed your stop for a pineapple, there may be a little fruit stand that you can pick one up on right near the entrance to the beach! Take your fresh pineapple and a coconut, and you’ve got yourself a yummy “pina colada” for a snack! The sand is beautiful here, you can take a dip in crystal clear water, or meet the local grazing animals, like goats or cows!

Half Moon Bay

IMG_3533

Half Moon Bay gets its name from the shape of the shoreline, and was one of my favorite beaches that I visited on the island. It is a gorgeous beach with rocks, coral, sand, and some really cool cliffs to hike on make it the perfect spot for everyone. While not nearly as “thrilling” as kite surfing, climbing all over the rocks and walking down the short cliff while being splashed with the roaring waves may not be everyone’s cup of tea. A little heads up if you do look to go on the little walk; the cliffs are made of clay, and can be a bit slippery, best to bring a friend to hold onto!

If you’re not looking for the adventurous hike, but still want the best day on the beach in Antigua, don’t fret, the beach is calm and beautiful and the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the warm Caribbean sun.

One of the most emotional experiences I’ve ever One of the most emotional experiences I’ve ever had. I came out of the water in tears. The sounds these young males made completely runs through your core more than any concert I’ve ever been to. Looking into their eyes was like connecting with a soul much wiser than our little human souls could ever hope to be. It was a moment I’ll never forget and a moment that is likely one of the most spiritual I’ve had yet. 🐋*All activities conducted and permitted through @asso_oceania and @nani.travels#moorea #oceania #whalewatching #humpbackwhale #bucketlistadventures #frenchpolynesia #frenchpolynesianislands #adventuretravel #ecotravel #oceantravel #islandtravel #tropicaltravel #oceanvibes
Would you visit this remote tropical island that’s 600 miles from the closest land mass?? 🌊The island of Bermuda is a beautiful island located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Although sometimes considered to be a part of the Caribbean, it is in fact 900 miles north of the Caribbean Sea!This little hidden cove is just off of Horseshoe Beach, Bermuda’s famous pink sand beach. The sand glitters in the sunshine and there are little particles of pink corals, making the sand shine with a pink hue.Have you ever been to Bermuda? 🇧🇲#bermuda #islandtravel #visitbermuda #bermudatriangle #pinksandbeach #tropicaltravel #tropicalbeach #tropicaldestination #adventuretravel #ecotravel #saltyluxepresets #saltyluxe #theinfluencerbootcamp #saltyvibes #islandvibes🌴 #islandtraveler
Do you prefer summer or winter? I’ll give you on Do you prefer summer or winter? I’ll give you one guess as to what I prefer 🌴Seeing everyone’s skiing and snowboard pictures, snowy mountain tops, and cozy winter vibes are great, but I can’t help but have a longing for the sun. Winter and I aren’t the best of friends.Stick me in the heat with a palm tree to lounge on or under and I’m a happy camper. Even better if there’s a little shallow ocean water to relax in under the palm fronds. 🏝️#tropicalvibes #summervibes #islandvibe #coconutpalm #islandtravel #islanddestination #frenchpolynesia #mooreaisland #tropicaltravel #tropicalisland #tropicaldestination #beachtravel #femaletravelblogger #tropicalsoul #islandgirls #tahitibeach #mooreaisland

Never did I think I would take a group trip, but t Never did I think I would take a group trip, but this view was absolutely my favorite of 2022.💕I joined @saltyluxe and so many other amazing people on the trip of a lifetime to Mo’orea, at a time I desperately needed deep, soulful healing. Truth be told I didn’t even feel excited until I was on the flight to LAX to make the connection to French Polynesia. For 11 days I truly felt loved, cherished, and like I could be myself again after so long.Every experience on this trip was meaningful. From the planned activities like helping plant corals with the @coralgardeners learning traditional Polynesian dance, swimming with whales, and so much more, to every little interaction that was shared. I’ll never forget these amazing people and how much they touched my life. Sitting in the bottom of a yellow boat talking about life, sharing a room with someone that felt like a sister, long talks under the stars, and just so many in between moments felt like a gift from the Universe.Which brings me to this moment. This view. We had been watching the dancers perform a beautiful show with the prettiest backdrop in the world. And in one moment they all grabbed one of us to dance together. It was a moment when the world slipped away and we all shared this euphoric moment of happiness that led us to dancing into the sunset together, full of giggles and life, and also of tears to have to say goodbye to our new family. It’s a moment I will never forget.Mo’orea, you’ll always hold a special place in my heart. ❤️#moorea #mooreaisland #frenchpolynesia #saltyluxe #grouptrip #saltyluxeretreat #tropicalparadise #soultribe #travelfriends #tropicaltravel #polynesianislands #bestviewof2022
DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN SEE WATERFALLS IN THE CARIBBE DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN SEE WATERFALLS IN THE CARIBBEAN?! 💦My favorite Caribbean island of Grenada offers so much, from white sandy beaches to beautiful seas, and even numerous waterfalls! Each offer something unique, but four of my favorite waterfalls in Grenada are:
-Annandale Waterfall - perfect for a short trip from the resorts, this is one of the closest falls to the city of St. George’s and the most accessible with paved walking paths and a gorgeous garden-Concord Falls - easily accessible falls with paved stairs and a gorgeous drive up the coast. Perfect shallow swimming pool with a series of multiple falls if you want to adventure on a hike-Mt. Carmel Falls - probably my favorite of the falls, and Grenada’s tallest waterfall standing 70 feet tall!-Seven Sisters Falls - a cascade of 7 unique waterfalls, with the most popular one shown in my photo. Enjoy a tropical hike and spend the day swimming in the pool below the falls!Which waterfall sounds like one you’d like to visit?!#grenada🇬🇩 #puregrenada #grenadawaterfall #annandalefalls #sevensisterswaterfall #mtcarmelfalls #concordfalls #tropicalvibes #tropicaltravel #islandtravel #visitgrenada #caribbeantravel #adventuretravel #caribbeandestination #islanddestinations #caribbeandestination #caribbeanvacation #femaletraveler #caribbeanisland #tropicaldestination #tropicalisland
