Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my island sou Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my island soul sister!I wish we could celebrate together and dance around to soca music under the Caribbean sunshine, but I’m so glad we got to spend so much time together recently! If you’ve never been to the Caribbean, the music playing in the second video is called “soca” and is the music played during Carnival. It’s upbeat, fun, and is such a huge part of Caribbean culture. Definitely something you need to experience when you visit the West Indies!I Can’t wait to share a drink at Esther’s again sometime soon! Love you lady 💕 @tanzipansy #teanseatravel
WE’RE OFFICIALLY LIVING ON THE NEW BOAT!!! ⛵️ Do you have any questions about life aboard a sailboat? Ask them below and I’d love to chat! It’s not the one pictures, that’s the old boat that’ll be for sale soon (if you’re in the market look out for that) - but a boat that we’ve put our blood, sweat, and tears into already. She’s still got a lot of work to do before she’s all done but my heart is so full being back onboard full time, and even happier that this boat is our new chapter in life. If you haven’t seen any of the new bot, check out the highlights on my profile! The kitties are adjusting to being in a smaller space together again, we’re still unpacking and moving things aboard, but it already feels like home. I’ve got a boat tour planned for when we finish putting stuff away, so keep an eye out for that! I’m so happy to see our ideas come to life, and can’t wait to share more with y’all! 🌺Pic from our sailing trip through the Exumas Bahamas in the beginning of 2020! #teanseatravel
In case you didn’t know, boat life isn’t all t In case you didn’t know, boat life isn’t all that glamorous ⛵️Most people hear that I’ve lived on a boat and am moving onboard our new boat in a week and think “wow how cool, you must love being on the water all the time and are always surrounded by turquoise water.”While that’s the reality sometimes, boat life is a lot of work. If you think bringing groceries in from the car up your apartment stairs, imagine bringing them from the car, into a dock cart, down to a dinghy, taking the dinghy to the big boat, loading them on deck then down below. Now you’ve got to find a place for it all to fit!On top of that, living on older boats requires a lot of TLC. Our new boy is a 1985 and needed a bit of a facelift, from rebuilding the engine to revarnishing or painting the entire interior, needing to sew new cushions, and much more on that long list of to-dos still, most of my free time has been spent working late nights or long days onboard.Even though there’s a lot of tough dirty work and endless projects, the times that we are surrounded by dolphins or turquoise water and sunshine make it totally worth it. 🐬 #teanseatravel
First day of spring means we’re one day closer t First day of spring means we’re one day closer to SUMMER WEATHER and my heart is so excited!☀️🌺🌊 Want to learn about this gorgeous state park? Keep reading!Ironically it’s the coldest day we’ve had in a couple weeks here in St. Augustine. No beach days this weekend unfortunately but that gives me time to work on the boat and on some blog things (oh and Netflix too).In case you haven’t read my Florida Keys Guide yet, you may not be familiar with this state park where this pic was taken SIX years ago (that makes me feel old just thinking about that). Bahia Honda State Park is a great spot for sunbathing, swimming in the crystal clear Keys water, or walking to see the old railway built by Henry Flagler! It’s located near Marathon Key, which is a great place to enjoy the natural beauty of the Keys! Have you ever visited Bahia Honda? 🏝 #teanseatravel
YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS FLORIDA BUCKET LIST YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS FLORIDA BUCKET LIST ACTIVITY 🐟Robbie’s of Islamorada is an awesome spot to feed wild tarpon by hand, see visiting manatees, lots of pelicans (avoid those at all cost - trust me 🥴 - and grab a drink in the Keys sunshine! The entrance fee to feed the tarpon is just a couple dollars, and then a bucket of fish is an additional few bucks. For Steve and I both to feed the fish, and a shared bucket between the two of us, it was under $10. Definitely worth the visit, and if you haven’t seen my reel about the Pelicans, guppy HAVE to go watch it 🤣I also posted a story asking what kind of blog post you wanted to see from me, and y’all voted for Florida Springs just barely over a Florida Road Trip, so I’ll start digging in my hard drive for lots of springs pics!Have you been to a Robbies before? How about any of the Springs?! 💧 #teanseatravel
Have you ever visited St. Augustine?!? Sometimes I Have you ever visited St. Augustine?!? Sometimes I realize why people love to visit! 🌊The historic little seaside town is the first and longest continually inhabited settlement in the USA, but is also my little hometown. I don’t always understand why people want to visit since I’ve grown up running the same streets since I was a baby.Every now and then, I have this little “aha” moment and realize that it is a special little town. The little streets, the friendly southern charm, the beautiful architecture, and rich history. Combine that with a laid back beach vibe and it’s a pretty unique space. This street, St. George street is great for shopping, grabbing food or drinks, or just people watching (one of my favorite things to do). Keep your eyes out for unique little spots, they’re all over, but definitely plan for it to be busy, especially on a gorgeous day! #teanseatravel
